Biography
|
Jim Morgan, CCIM, serves as managing director for Sperry Van Ness - Investec Services Inc., specializing in office, industrial, multifamily, and development land transactions in Northeast Florida. Morgan has more than 35 years of industry experience, with total career transactions valued in excess of $750 million. In the past five years, his firm closed more than $85 million of office investment, multifamily, and land sales, in addition to more than 150,000 square feet of leased space.
Sperry Van Ness - Investec Services is the result of Morgan’s firm, Investec Services, Inc., being selected as Florida’s first national affiliate of Sperry Van Ness. Prior to founding Investec Services, Inc., Morgan served as president of Plantec Realty and RSH Realty Services, both subsidiaries of Reynolds, Smith and Hills, one of the largest architectural, engineering and planning firms in the South.
Morgan has been a registered real estate broker for 33 years and a licensed mortgage broker in the state of Florida for more than 28 years. He has served extensively on the Florida Chamber of Commerce, the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR)-President 2000— he was awarded the Circle of Honor in 2002. In 2003, Morgan chaired the Florida Association of Realtors-Commercial Alliance Council, and in 2004, he served as Legislative Chm and on FAR’s executive committee. He was a key player in FAR and the (CCIM) Florida chapter efforts to pass a commercial broker’s lien law in 2004-5, and served three years as the FAR liaison with the Florida CCIM chapter.
Morgan is a designee member of the CCIM Institute, and a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Florida Chamber—selected Class 4 of Leadership Florida, Jacksonville Chamber—office/industrial task force, and the National, Florida, and NEFL Associations of Realtors.
Prior to a career in real estate, Morgan served as acting director of the University of Florida Alumni offices, a Lieutenant in the United States Army and is a Vietnam Veteran. Morgan received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from the University of Florida.
